Rimac Automobili offers high performance EVs and high-tech components for the electromobility segment. Based in Croatia, Rimac was founded in 2009 by Croatian entrepreneur and founder CEO Mate Rimac at the age of 21. The company develops and produces high-tech components for electromobility, including high-performance e-axles and battery systems supplied to high-end OEMs. Rimac also designs, develops and manufactures the Nevera an, all-electric hypercar, the fastest accelerating car in the world (quarter-mile in 8.9 seconds, 0-100 km/h in 1.97 seconds), with over 1,900 horsepower and a top speed of more than 400 km/h. RIMAC is owned by Italian investment group Investindustrial, a global private equity firm focused on buyouts of mid-market companies in Europe and selectively in North America. It was founded in 1990 by Andrea Campanini Bonomi out of an industrial conglomerate.

Bugatti Rimac
Rimac has completed a combination of its hypercar business with Bugatti, the high-performance brand belonging to the Volkswagen group. In July 2021, VW Group’s Porsche and Rimac announced that they have agreed to create a joint venture that will incorporate Volkswagen’s high-performance Bugatti brand as well as Rimac Automobili. The new venture will be called Bugatti Rimac. Parent company Rimac Group will have a 55% stake in the joint venture, while Porsche will hold a 45% stake in the company.
The Rimac Group, is majority shareholder of Bugatti Rimac and the sole stakeholder of Rimac Technology. The Group brings together the most advanced hypercars in the world with a globally renowned team developing high performance electrification, autonomous and software solutions for the world’s largest OEMs. Rimac is based on the outskirts of Zagreb, Croatia, with locations around Europe, and currently employs more than 2,000 people. From 2023, the Rimac Group will be headquartered at a new state-of-the-art 200,000 m2 Rimac Campus, large enough to accommodate over 2,500 people.
