Dendrobium Motors, now defunct was a manufactures of  Singapore’s first hypercar, the all-electric supercar. The D-1 concept was first revealed in 2017 with Performance targets are a top speed in excess of 200mph and 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds and a price tag in the region of £1.2million. Following industrialist Sir James Dyson’s controversial announcement that his new electric car will be built in Singapore rather than the UK, in contrast the new British electric hypercar maker Dendrobium Automotive Limited is today (25 October 2018) reaffirming that it is looking to manufacture its game-changing all-electric D-1 hypercar in Great Britain. Williams Advanced Engineering – which was a key player in actually building and setting up the D-1 – was sold off from Williams to an Australian metals company for some £164 million. FMG (Fortescue Metals Group), made the deal to incorporate battery tech into its industrial trucks and railway locomotives.
